Combat Veterans Poker Run:The Combat Vets held a poker run May 18. It started at Fat
Jacks downtown, then to the Wagon wheel on Albert Pike, Then to Bubbas Brew on Hwy 70
in town, then to Bubbas Brew on Hwy 70, and then to Terry Martian’s Bar. The run was
about 60 miles. Terry Martian’s had pull pork sandwiches. They had lots of door
prizes. The turn out was smaller then expected because of the threat of rain.
Several bikers got wet.It was fun all in all and the money went to Vets in need.Of
course I had a terrible poker hand.
Honor Ride Veterans Car and Bike Show :The Car and bike show was held at the Hot
Springs Mail. They had a large turn out of some really great cars and about 15
motorcycles. Several members of the club were there. I put my BMW R90S and
the Triumph Hurricane in the show early and then went on the poker run. They handed
out trophies early because of rain. When I got back I was surprised I had won first
place in the vintage class with the Hurricane. Really nice trophy. Pat and Butch’s
grand son won his class. He did a great job on his 1994 Harley Davidson FXR Low
Rider Custom. I think he is hooked on showing Motorcycles now. I just loaded the
last bike as the rain hit, very lucky. The Honor Ride Vets did a great job putting on
the show and had a great turn out. Money went to help Veterans. Hope they do it
again next year. Thanks Guys , Fun Show.
