Fandango Swap Meet :
Fandango swap meet was held at the air port in Fredericksburg, Texas.
The Bike Show had 110 bikes, Some really fantastic motorcycles on display. I entered my 1973 Triumph
Hurricane and the 1974 BMW R90S. Several Cannonball bikes were there.
The swap meet had 80 venders or so, mostly old motorcycle parts. We sold a few things.
The flat track races on the horse track was fun to watch. Even had chopper drag races.
Fandango went over well and they are going to do it again next year i think.
Cherokee Chapter Road Run :
The Road Run was held in Kerrville at the Inn of the Hills.
Great turn out. Old motorcycles every where. Sunday after everyone got settled in, there was a buffet.
Monday, Riders meeting at 8:30 with group photo. Monday’s ride was 121 miles around the back roads.
We rode the BMW R90S. It did not like doing 35 MPH on farm roads but cleared up when we got up to speed.
I think there were eight bikes broke down and put on trailers.
Tuesday was three sisters day. Highways 335, 336, 337, some of the best roads in the hill country.
178 miles that day. Long day but fun. Went to Lone Star Motorcycle Museum. Great bikes on display.
Lunch in Leakey at the little motorcycle shop and grill.  Only a couple of brake downs.
Then back to the hotel for social time at the Bar with music.
Wednesday was 128 miles of more twisting back roads.
Then the big banquet with great food and great people.
The Diamond Chapter was represented by Russell and Elizabeth Plunkett and Susie and myself.
I think there were 7 different chapters there. Big turn out with 240 Riders.
I saw many old friends and met many new ones.
The Bluebonnets were blooming every where, the best in 30 years.
Thanks to the Cherokee Chapter for doing a fantastic job on both events.
I know how much work it was, but well worth it.
I will be back the next time.
May is motorcycle safety month, so careful out there, Please!!!!!
