8th Annual Mini Road Run :
The 8th Annual Historic Downtown Hot Springs Mini Road Run was held on June 24th. Though thunderstorms rolled through the area that morning, the skies were clear by 11:00am. We had a great turnout with 11 antique motorcycles and hard core bikers making the run. The roads were clear, (no danger of black ice), and the weather was great. Starting at the Transportation Depot we went through town and over West Mountain ending up at Gulpha Gorge for snacks, fun, fellowship, and a quick meeting. Awards went to Russell Plunket for Oldest with a 1948 Mustang. Caleb Caldwell for Smallest with a 1971 Honda SL70. Ki Hartsfield for Smallest Oldest with a 1968 Honda CT90. And James Sandage for The Neato with a 1957 Allstate. Thank you to all who participated and made this another great event and a special thank you to Butch and Pat Jones for watching out for us with a chase vehicle. The Sentinel Record covered the event and it also made it into The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. It was a fun day and a good time was had by all .
Benefit For Jay and Kelly Holmes:
The benefit for Jay was great success. It started out with a poker run with five stops and was about 70 miles long.
It ended at Terry Martins Club. There was lots of food and a band. Also a silent auction and several other items
were auctioned off. There was a good turn out and over $5,000 dollars raised to help him with medical bills.
Some of his friends repaired and painted his motorcycle to his surprise. The bike looked like it did before the wreck.
Fun was had by all for a good cause. Nice to have friends when you are in need. The Diamond chapter donated to the cause.
I won $50 on the poker run for worse hand, 7 high. Had a great time.
Susie and I went to Red River New Mexico and rode with friends. Had a great time.
