Happy Thanksgiving !!!!!

Diamond Chapter Christmas Party will be Saturday Dec. 9 at Jose’s
Mexican Grill & Cantina, 5361 Central Ave. Hot Springs.Be there by 6:00.
We will do Dirty Santa Gifts. If you want to play  bring a warped $10 to
$15 dollar motorcycle related gift. All players will draw a number. When
your number comes up you may pick a gift or take a gift from someone until
all gifts are gone. It is a lot fun so bring a gift. We will also have
door prizes. If you have paid your club dues the Club will pay for your meal.                                              
Please pay for your  own adult  beverages.

Arktoberfest in Arkadelphia Oct. 28:Arktoberfest bike and car show was
held on Oct. 28th. The Diamond Chapter had a good turn out of vintage
bikes 25 or so.Judging was done by peoples choice. The public was given 3
metal nuts and told to vote for the bike they liked best by putting the
nuts in the Halloween basket hanging from each bike. Trophies were made
out of old motorcycle parts and awarded at 4:30. My 1934 BSA with Sidecar
won first place. Second and third place all got trophies. The Bike show
did well and was a lot of fun. Thanks to Scott and Leslie Byrd for doing
the bike show.There was also a car show and several home made Beers to
taste. Also Crafts and music.Fun was had by all. Thanks everyone for bring

Veterans Rally at Rodney’s Cycle House
The American Freedom Fund for vets held it’s annual event at Rodney’s
Cycle House on Nov. 4th. The Diamond Chapter had 26 vintage motorcycles on
display for the public to see. James Sandage brought a trailer full of
bikes. I brought three bikes including  the club Pan Head for sale. Got a
few lookers but no buyers.Scott Byrd road his 1942 Harley Davidson WLA to
the show. There was a beer garden, great BBQ, venders, 50/50 raffle, and
Veterans info booth, with all proceeds going to  Veterans Benefit
fund.The weather was great in the afternoon and there was a large crowd
all day.Thanks to Judy ‘ little bit’ and Rodney’s Cycle House for getting
this event together. It was larger than last year and should be larger
next year. We all had fun and a great day.

Motorcycle Auction in Glenwood December 2nd:Auction Motorcycles, Parts,
tools, Trailer, and lots more. Go to mcgrewauctions.com  then go to
Jimmye b Smith Estate for pictures and directions. Several club members
are going. Call me at 501-525-9833 I will tell you what I know.Might get
some good deals. It will be fun.

AMCA Diamond Chapter Minutes

October 2017 The meeting took place at Smoking ‘N Style in Hot Springs with 13 members present. 

Mike Thomson reported on the Arkadelphia show that he and Butch Jones attended. Scott
Byrd hosted the antique motorcycle event in conjunction with the local
festival. Mike Parker presented trivia with Mike Racicot the clear
winner. There were no minutes read and no treasurer’s report. Mike
Thomson commented on the Motor Maids event at Petite Jean State Park on
September 30. Butch Jones and Scott Byrd attended. Mike also gave details
on the Barber Anitque Motorcycle event in Alabama. The museum has been
greatly expanded and the swap meet has grown. Due to bad weather from a
hurricane, Sunday was a washout there. Greg Bright and Scott Byrd attended
the Veterans Honor Ride. The Diamond Chapter received a lot of
attention. Upcoming events were announced by Mike Thomson. There will be
no November meeting due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The club Christmas
party will be Saturday at 6:00 pm December 9 at Jose’s. Bring a $10 –
$15 motorcycle related gift to participate in Dirty Santa. There will be
plenty of door prizes from Barber. January 28th will be the chili cook
off at Lanney Plummer’s. The club bike has been listed on the Norton
club’s website.. Mike also reported on the upcoming motorcycle auction
scheduled for December 2 in Glenwood. A general discussion

Closing Comment

Happy Thanksgiving to all !!Winter is settling in and it is getting cold, Riding days are shorter and less
often. Time to get out the polish, wax, and elbow grease.Time to work on your old machines.See you at the Christmas Party.

PS. On a very sad note Carl Radder passed away last week. Carl was a true
motorcycle enthusiast and a Diamond Chapter member for several years. He
will be missed. My he rest in peace.
